5. Responsibilities of the Office of Environment, Health & Safety

EH&S is responsible for tracking developments in environmental and health and safety laws and regulations and determining (with the assistance of University legal counsel, and oversight from EH&S Policy Committee faculty committees in particular areas) requirements that apply to the campus. Requirements are met through the development of programs by EH&S and relevant faculty committees for implementation by campus departments as well as through direct services, consultation, and compliance assistance provided by EH&S.

EH&S is responsible for providing information to the campus community, through established communication channels on programs, services, regulatory impact, and compliance requirements.
