UC Berkeley Guidelines on Protecting Workers from COVID-19

UPDATE: UC Berkeley has updated its COVID-19 safety training course with additional information required by the COVID-19 prevention emergency regulation (8 CCR 3205), which was readopted with changes on 4/22/2022. This training also reflects updated University of California policies to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 in the workplace. Take the online training now or read below to learn more.

The required online training is designed to help members of the UC Berkeley community safely return to work on campus during the coronavirus pandemic.

The required online training is designed to reduce the risk of UC Berkeley employees getting COVID while working on campus during the coronavirus pandemic.


The updated course, EHS 207: UC Berkeley Guidelines on Protecting Workers from COVID-19 (Revised 5/10/22), is required by Cal/OSHA and must be completed by all faculty, staff, postdocs, and student workers.  Even if an employee has taken the prior version of EHS 207, they still must take this updated course.

Please Note: Those who completed the original version of this course (published on 6/1/2020, revised 2/8/2021, 7/7/2021 and 5/10/2022) must meet this requirement by completing the entire revised course

About EHS 207UC Berkeley Guidelines on Protecting Workers from COVID-19

The 15-minute training course covers critical COVID-19 health and safety information, including self-monitoring and testing, and information regarding COVID-19 related benefits that affected employees may be entitled to. The goal of the training is to provide a baseline set of practices to protect workers from the spread of COVID-19 upon their return to campus. The course, “UC Berkeley Guidelines on Protecting Workers from COVID-19”, is required by Cal/OSHA and must be completed in order for faculty, staff, postdocs, student workers, and other personnel  to have access to campus.
