Face Coverings Distribution Schedule

January 19, 2022

UC Berkeley continues to take critical steps to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the campus community. EH&S is providing surgical masks and N95s to employees. Cloth face coverings are no longer allowed alone, but may still be worn over a surgical mask to improve fit. Please refer to the face coverings distribution schedule below.

Employees: obtaining face coverings for yourself

  • Bring your Cal 1 card with you to pick up your five face coverings.

  • No matter where you work, you can go to the Hazardous Materials Facility to pick up your face coverings.

  • No appointment necessary.

Employees: obtaining face coverings for multiple people

  • Supervisors (or a delegate) may pick up face coverings for their team from the Hazardous Materials Facility by emailing a list of names and ID numbers ahead of time to ppe@berkeley.edu.

  • Instructors may pick up a box of masks for students that may show up without a proper face covering.

  • Instructors may pick up a reusable face shield with drape while supplies last.

    • Face shields with drapes are an approved alternative to face covering for teaching and are not recommended for staff. Please note that a face covering provides more COVID-19 protection than a face shield with drape.

    • Departments or instructors may also purchase face shields with drapes on their own. Visit the following website to request a quote and inquire about discounts for educational institutions or large purchases.

Students should pick up face coverings from the ASUC Student Union, north side of Eshleman Hall off Lower Sproul Plaza entrance.
