The labeling of chemicals and containers in use is an important part of hazard communication. Labs use many abbreviations, and these may not be known to visitors, emergency responders, or facilities staff. Please use the chemical abbreviation template to create a chemical abbreviation guide and post it in a visible location, preferably near the entrance to the lab. This allows anyone in your space to have a reference for the abbreviations in your lab.
