Emergency Management Office

The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is responsible for coordinating activities necessary to build, sustain, and improve the capability to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from all types of emergencies. OEM also coordinates campus continuity planning efforts to help protect the campus mission from any disruption – large or small.

Radiation Safety Team

Radiation Safety Officer (RSO): Carolyn Mac Kenzie

The Radiation Safety (RS) team oversees the safe use of ionizing radiation on campus.  This team provides radiation safety services such as maintaining the campus radioactive material license, training, package inspection and delivery, dosimetry, surveys, instrument calibration, safety consultation, decommissioning and decontamination support and emergency response.

Environmental Protection Team

Environmental Protection

The Environmental Protection (EP) team’s mission is to protect and enhance the campus environment.  In addition, this team oversees compliance programs for air quality, surface and groundwater, wastewater, underground tanks, property assessment and remediation.  Team members are also leading efforts in campus sustainability, greenhouse gas emission reduction, and watershed restoration.

Health & Safety Team

Associate Director: Brandon DeFrancisci

The Health & Safety (H&S) team is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all employees on campus.  They provide onsite consultation, training, compliance assistance, and evaluation of health and safety hazards for personnel in offices, laboratories and shops.  Other functions include management of the spill response team, chemical inventory and audit programs.
