Description

The Field Safety Program provides compliance assistance, technical information, and training to assist UC Berkeley faculty and staff that perform field research off campus and at University-operated field stations.

Getting ready to plan a trip?  Prepare for the outdoors by creating a customized field safety plan.  A template is available in the Safety Guidelines for Field Researchers booklet (Field Guide) at the link below, page 34.  The Field Guide also provides tips and things to consider before you leave campus.  What hazards may be involved? What should you bring?  Do you know what to do if someone gets hurt?  What resources are available?  Remember, a successful outdoor adventure depends heavily on trip planning!
