Description

This program is concerned with the safe management of medical waste on campus.Medical waste includes biohazardous waste, biohazardous sharps waste, pathologywaste, chemotherapy waste. Generators of medical waste must follow the proceduresoutlined in the "Guidelines for Managing and Disposing of Medical Waste" listed below. Medical waste must be brought to one of the designated locations on campus (locations are listed in the Fact Sheet). A private contractor removes medical waste from these locations every week and transports it to a medical waste treatment facility.
