Description

Direct service provided for chemical pick-up and waste disposal. Campus hazardous materials users fill out Material Packing Lists with information about unwanted chemicals and submit these to the Hazardous Materials Management Team. These hazardous materials are picked up and a determination is made as to whether the chemicals should be designated for reuse or disposal. If the chemicals are deemed hazardous waste, they are packaged at the Hazardous Materials Facility and staged for transport to an appropriate disposal site. If the chemicals are deemed reusable, efforts are made to redistribute to them to a new user on campus. A recharge is invoiced for pick up of unwanted hazardous chemicals.

EH&S offers training at no cost to campus departments on chemical waste minimization and management.
