Laboratory Operations & Safety Committee

Summary of Charges

Formulates and recommends campus policy on laboratory operations and safety in order to ensure compliance with the Cal/OSHA "Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories" standard and other applicable local, state and federal regulations. Oversees implementation of chemical inventory requirements, the campus Toxic Gas Program, and the Laboratory Self-Inspection Program. Reviews training materials and systems for campus laboratories. Assists in evaluating and implementing new regulations, policies and procedures in campus laboratories.
