Summary of Charges

Approves and monitors scientific underwater diving projects. Issues and revokes diving permits and has authority to suspend diving operations or programs deemed unsafe. Insures small boat safety for all research activity. Recommends to the Vice Chancellor for Research changes in policy and amendments to the campus Diving Safety Manual and Small Boat Safety Manual. Ensures compliance with these manuals by reviewing diving procedures, training programs, dive locations, and associated diving equipment.
